Want to donate Mommy Without Hair? books...

Battling cancer is as much emotional as it is physical and that emotional strain often spreads beyond the parent to the child.

My goal is for the books to be donated to reputable cancer organizations, cancer clinics, oncology counselors and church libraries to relieve the expense and stress of having to buy a book to explain  a cancer diagnosis to children. Instead, it could be just given to them as a "little happy" in a "not so happy" situation.

Suggestions on ways to DONATE:

1.  You can purchase books individually or in bulk via our "PAYPAL" Link and provide them to any person or group you think would benefit from the book.

2.  You can use our "DONATE" link below and we will do the work for you.

For every $6.50 (which is 40% off of the retail price) you donate, we will deliver a book to an organization of your choosing or we can provide books to reputable support groups, clinics, doctors and others who have requested books.  Books can be labeled inside the cover "Donated By", "In Honor Of" or "In Memory of".  Just leave us a note as part of The "DONATE" link letting us know your special request.  Once your order has been completed, we will send you confirmation your books have been delivered.

JOHNS HOPKIN'S NEWEST NURSE!
March 28, 2009 (Baltimore, MD)

We attended a fantastic event at Johns Hopkins that is offered through their Oncology Social Workers Program.  The "Kids Orientation Program", which serves breakfast and lunch, is offered quarterly  from 9am-1pm.

The program offers parents and children a wonderful support system filled with activities for both the parent and child.  There is a Support Group session for Parents and a non- threatening tour of the Cancer Clinic for children 5- 18 years old.  The tour for the children is led by Nurses, Oncology Doctors, Social Workers and Volunteers.

My children said they absolutely "loved it" and you can see by the picture my youngest really got into it!  My husband and I enjoyed the Adult Support group session.  It was nice to confirm that other families in this situation have similar questions and concerns.
We provided 20 donated books to families as well as Staff members of Johns Hopkins who gave it rave reviews. My hope is to continue to donate books to this program and many others like it.
